The story

Pálava (PAH-la-va) was crossed in Moravia in 1953 by Josef Veverka, from Gewürztraminer and Müller-Thurgau. It is one of Czechia's signature grapes, and it shares its name with the Pálava hills, the Jurassic limestone of Moravia.

The Gewürztraminer side is plain on the nose: rose, lychee, spice. Müller-Thurgau adds a softer, fruitier frame. The wines are full and perfumed, with moderate acidity, and they are made dry, off-dry and sweet.
